10 Finances and ScholarshipsThe Fox Student Financial Services' (SFS) goal is to provide professional, courteous student services to undergraduate students and their parents in The Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University. By visiting the SFS office, you will be able to access some the most up-to-date information below: 10.1 Office of Student Financial Services (SFS) 1800 N. Broad Street 10.2 MIS Departmental Awards & Scholarships A minimum of $200 is given annually to a full time undergraduate or full or part-time graduate student who has made a significant contribution to the students and extended community of the MIS department. A minimum of $200 is given annually to graduating MIS students for academic excellence. The MIS student with the highest cumulative GPA (separately for undergraduate and graduate students) in the semester of graduation (one for spring, and one for summer and fall combined) automatically receives this award. A student must have officially graduated in order to receive this award. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, special talent, or to select incoming first year and continuing students. These awards are tuition based and do not have to be repaid and are only valid for the assigned academic year. 10.2.4 Arnold Kurtz Student Achievement Scholarship A $2000 scholarship to continuing high performing MIS students who demonstrate exceptional achievement and accomplishment. Recipients are selected by the Institute for Business and Information Technology. Applicants must be MIS majors in either the undergraduate or masters level program, with a minimum GPA of 3.3, and who have demonstrated excellence beyond the standard curriculum and course requirements. Ex. Exceptional community service or an innovative project in a MIS class. 10.2.5 Institute for Business and Information Technology IT Leader Scholarship Award A $4000 scholarship to a continuing high performing MIS student who demonstrates exceptional leadership. Recipients are selected by the Institute for Business and Information Technology. Applicants must be MIS majors in either the undergraduate or masters level program, with a minimum GPA of 3.3, and have two letters of recommendation that address the contributions of the student and their leadership potential. The site is intended for current and prospective BBA in MIS majors. The site is informational only – the information in the site does not supersede existing Temple or Fox School procedures and requirements. If there is a discrepancy, then the official Temple or Fox School source for the information takes priority over the information in this site. The information in this site is updated once a year.
