MIS Professional Development

 

The MIS department is committed to broaden your professional development. A number of activities have been organized, including panel sessions, speakers, etc. To get credit for professional development activities you must submit a participation form to the MIS department on this website. The department will maintain a record of your activities and provide a list to the instructor near the end of the term. This list will be used to determine the professional development grade. The form must be submitted within one week of the time you attended the event. We will also use this space to provide more information on professional development activities.

MIS Career Counseling

All MIS students receive one-on-one career counseling in private session. You will have the opportunity to sit down with a career counselor who has significant experience in industry and gain insight into the roles of MIS personnel and potential career paths. You will discuss your interests with the career counselor and learn about MIS careers that are aligned with your interests. Counseling is offered during the fall and spring terms and is available by appointment. For more information, please contact Professor Mart Doyle.

Center for Student Professional Development (CSPD)

 

The Center for Student Professional Development will have a number of workshops that can be attended during the term.  These workshops include titles such as:

 

Internship IQ (techniques and strategies to make your internship a success) Tech Savvy Resumes (special tips to help MIS students build a stand-out resume) Tech Talk (helping candidates with technical skills approach interviews).

Graduate Career Management Center (GCMC)

 

The GCMC is dedicated to the needs of Fox graduate students. The Center provides assistance in focusing and preparing for both summer internships and post-MBA careers and provides opportunities for students to network with, meet and interview with top employers.
