Every year, the Department of Management Information Systems, the Institute for Business and Information Technology, and the Association of Management Information Systems hold their Information Technology Awards Reception honoring outstanding performance and achievements of both faculty and students as well as industry leaders and innovators in the field of Information Technology.

This year, the Fox School will recognize Cristóbal I. Conde, President and Chief Executive Officer, SunGard Data Systems Inc. with the Fox 2008 Information Technology Leadership Award. This award is presented in light of his leadership in the use and development of IT in business.

Matthew Charles Mullenweg, Founder and Primary Developer, Automattic Inc. will be recognized as the recipient of the Fox 2008 Information Technology Innovator Award. This award is presented to those who have applied IT to create new business opportunities.

Joe Weiss, Chairman, Electronic Ink will be awarded with the Fox 2008 Information Technology Award for Distinguished Alumni. The Fox IT Award for Distinguished Alumni is given to a person to recognize a distinguished career in information technology and their contribution to the community, industry, or Temple University.
